We have a double header this evening with two top-class local bands for your delectation:
We’re pleased to welcome English folk band Camus to Baldock Folk Club for the first time. Camus consists of virtuoso fiddler Greg Smith, Northumbrian piper David Somerville, melodeon player and songwriter Andew Burn, and master of the bouzouki and singer songwriter Brian Cleary. Camus was founded by Greg Smith in the 1980s, and named after a village in County Galway, Ireland. They play an exciting mix of traditional folk music and their own songs and tunes, with particular influences from England, Shetland, Northumberland and Ireland. They’re noted for beautiful harmonies, inventive arrangements, moving songs and unusual compositions, and have entertained audiences in clubs, concerts, ceilidhs and festivals. They’ve also operated as a ceilidh band under the name of The Great Eastern Ceilidh Company.
Cambridge-based Tennessee Twin are a multi-award winning country music duo. Victoria and Geoff met in a recording studio in 1997. From that moment on, their musical journey took an upward trajectory, connecting them on a personal level and captivating audiences around the world.
