When you have to hand the stage at the Cock pub over to the devine Kelvin Davies and Gary Moore and there’s some space under a tree (it was raining!) on the High Street! Great day in lovely Baldock!
Another wonderful evening was had by all down at the Orange Tree on Wednesday. Sadly, our headliner, Steve Warner, was forced to cancel due to ill health. Steve apologises profusely for missing the gig and we wish him a speedy recovery and hope to see him back singing and playing for us very soon.![]()
Stepping deftly into the breach, we had amazing extended floor spots from Eddie La Roche with his virtuosity on the Spanish acoustic guitar; Adrian Hall with some fine, intricate guitar; Frank Corr with some lovely Irish and Country ballads. Tony Gammagae charmed us with a few lively bluesy and rag tunes and finally, we had Dave Stacey and Brian Burke as the Shawnee Mountain Boys who provided with their unique mix of lively bluegrass and Appalachian music on banjo mandolin and bouzouki. So, a real mixed and talented bag for what was a great evening.
