Baldock Folk Club is hosting a day of live music at the Wimpole Estate Harv’Fest Festival. Free entry.
Organised by Greg Rose, the BFC Harv’Fest session includes:
Morning session – 11-12 – Kelly & Woolley and Greg Rose
Afternoon session – 1.30-2.30. – Kaszak & Afifi and Phil Hewett
The music will be held in the Stables Block on the Wimpole Estate which has a café, and toilets.
FREE ENTRY – Anyone wishing to come along to Harv’Fest on 16th can get free entry to the Wimpole Hall estate as long as they give their names to Greg by emailing greg_fieldfare@hotmail.com or texting 07785328097 by Thursday 14th September.
There are several other Harv’Fest events going on as well as the opportunity to walk around the beautiful grounds of the Estate.
You will need to park in the main visitor entrance. Although the National Trust will ensure free entry, a suggested donation of £2 would be very welcome. Please also bring your National Trust cards if you are members as every member’s card scanned contributes significantly to Wimpole Hall’s funding allocations from National Trust HQ.
Some more details on the acts performing:
Kelly and Woolley – Matt Kelly and Gary Woolley have been making music together for over a decade. Matt is a multi-instrumentalist/singer and Gary is a guitarist/singer; both contribute to the songwriting. Kelly and Woolley have three CDs to their name and have played at most clubs and festivals throughout East Anglia including Cambridge Folk Festival, Folk East, Ely and Bury St Edmunds festivals. They are currently on a min-tour of launch gigs for ‘Cuckoo Tree’. Expect a wide range of songs and tunes from both sides of the Atlantic.
Kaszak & Afifi – Martin Kaszak and Faradena Afifi are a duo performing a rich variety of acoustic music and original material from Folk to Country Blues and more modern songs . They have played at Festivals throughout the country. They accompany their music with guitars, mandocello and Viola and fiddle.
Phil Hewett – Phil has played at folk clubs and events for over 50 years. His music is an eclectic mix of blues, traditional and self penned often inspired by local stories and legends. He is a superb guitarist and songwriter and has been a regular and very popular performer at Baldock Folk Club for many years.
Greg Rose – Greg is one of the four organisers of Baldock Folk Club and has organised today’s music at Wimpole Hall. He also performs regularly at the Club and elsewhere with a popular mix of personal, unusual and quirky original songs and covers.
